Ashcombe Manor

A manor house of 1560 with a great hall that has never been subdivided. The hammerbeam roof is original and the hall seats 90 beneath it.

Eight bedrooms in the east wing sleep 16, which suits a family taking over the house for a weekend rather than a large room block.

The knot garden is licensed for outdoor ceremonies up to 80. If the weather turns, the hall takes the ceremony instead at no notice and no extra fee.

We cook in house. The kitchen garden supplies a good share of what appears on the plate between May and September.
